About

Genevieve Mason is an artist living and working in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.

After over 12 years away including a brief stint in Melbourne followed by an extended period living in London, she has returned home to continue her artistic practice.

Genevieve's work predominantly focuses on weaving, a modern form of rug making, and painting.

She has a huge focus on sustainability, with her subject matter often relating to nature and human interaction with it, creating a balance between the beauty of the natural world and the changing world we live in.  Over time her work has evolved to include more abstract pieces, exploring the relationship between different colours and forms.

Her textile work is made with natural, sustainable fibres, predominantly linen and New Zealand wool.
